SEEK Group CFO to retire from AMP Ltd board

AMP Ltd has announced that Geoff Roberts will retire from the board at the conclusion of the firm's AGM on 2 May 2019.

Roberts' decision to retire, AMP said, is due to the "increasing demands on his time" from his executive role at SEEK Ltd, where he serves as group CFO, and as a director at AMP Ltd and a number of its subsidiaries.

Roberts joined the AMP Ltd board in 2016 and has served as chair of the audit committee since then. He has also served as a member of the risk and remuneration committee and on the board of AMP Life. More recently, he was appointed to the AMP Bank board, and served as chair of the AMP Bank audit committee and as a member of the AMP Bank risk committee.

In acknowledging Roberts' service, AMP chair David Murray said: "On behalf of the board, I would like to thank Geoff for his considerable contribution to AMP, in particular as chair of the AMP Ltd audit committee."

He added: "Geoffs extensive experience in financial services across Australia, Asia and Europe has been invaluable during a significant change at AMP. We have benefitted from his knowledge and expertise and wish him well for the future."

Following his retirement, Andrea Slattery will be appointed as chair of the AMP Ltd and AMP Bank audit committees.
