Schroders Australia names new CEO

Schroders has announced that Chris Durack will succeed Greg Cooper as chief executive officer of Australia at the end of 2018.

Durack first joined Schroders in 2011 as head of distribution in Australia, before departing the role in 2016 to lead the firm's Hong Kong business. Previously, he was CEO of NSW State Super Corporation.

Commenting on the succession, Lieven Debruyne, CEO Asia Pacific, said: "Our Australian business has been incredibly successful over the last 20 years, to which Greg Cooper has made an invaluable contribution. As Greg leaves the business we are pleased to have an individual of Chris's strength to succeed Greg. Chris has been a significant part of the success in Australia during his time as Head of Distribution and will ensure continuity and growth of the business into the future."

Durack added: "Schroders has benefitted hugely from Greg's leadership in Australia and I have also greatly valued Greg as a mentor and friend for many years. I'm looking forward to re-joining my colleagues in the Australian business to continue the focus on delivering the right investment solutions for our clients."

Durack will relocate from Hong Kong to take up the role.
