REST Industry Super has announced the appointment of Vicki Doyle as the $45 billion fund's new chief executive officer, effective May 2018.

Doyle will join REST from AMP, where she is the director, superannuation, retirement & investments. Prior to joining AMP in 2015, she was head of retail & corporate super at BT for two years and at Suncorp for nine years in various superannuation and wealth management roles.

Commenting on Doyle's appointment, REST chair, Ken Marshman, said: "I have great pleasure in welcoming Vicki as REST's new CEO. The Board identified several excellent prospects during a thorough search process that included internal and external candidates, before determining that Vicki was the best-suited person to drive REST forward."

Doyle succeeds Damian Hill who announced his January 2018 departure in June 2017 after 11 years as CEO and 18 years with the fund.

REST COO, Andrew Howard, will act as interim CEO during a period of transition.

Following the announcement of Doyle's appointment, Paul Sainsbury, AMP's chief customer officer, said on LinkedIn: "Vicki has made a highly valued contribution to AMP and she leaves with our very best wishes."

AMP is understood to be recruiting to replace Doyle.
