Industry fund Rest has named Sally Cobb (née Corbett) as its new head of capital markets, part of chief investment officer Andrew Lill's in-house investments team.

Cobb is joined by Andrew Thomas, who has been named head of investment strategy and investment allocation.

In comments to Financial Standard, Andrew Lill said, "Andrew and Sally's appointments are important milestones as Rest continues to strengthen its management investments expertise and focus on constructing member-focused multi-asset portfolios.

"Andrew has a great investing history and expertise in asset allocation and portfolio construction, and Sally has a wealth of experience working globally in capital markets. Their experience will be valuable in Rest investments continuing to generate strong long-term returns for our members."

Cobb has been an investment consultant with Rest for the last two years. She previously spent time as a consultant with AustralianSuper and was a principal at Mercer delivering client solutions around transition solutions, portfolio management, and trading. Cobb was also the manager of Russell Investments' Australian and New Zealand investment services and has held roles at Credit Suisse, Goldman Sachs, and UBS.
