Research head leaves Centrepoint for AMP

Executive Move

Centrepoint Alliance head of research Miriam Herold is leaving the organisation to look after investments at AMP's superannuation trustee office.

Centrepoint's group executive for advice services and solutions, Kate Anderson, said the departure was a good career move for Herold but a disappointing loss for Centrepoint.

Herold joined Centrepoint in late 2018 to develop a robust investment and governance process for the group's adviser community including developing an investment philosophy and research process.

She came from IOOF where she was head of managed fund research. She was a portfolio manager with AMP and Pengana Capital, and has spent time with J.P. Morgan, CBA, and Henderson Global Investors in the UK.

Senior research analyst John Stamatopoulos is also leaving Centrepoint. "Both Miriam and John have been offered roles in the industry that are a great next step in helping them achieve their career goals," Anderson said. "I would like to thank Miriam and John for their commitment to delivering best practice research and investment products to our adviser community, as well as forging strong relationships internally and externally."

Maggie Callinan will look after the head of investment research on an interim basis.
