Realindex adds quantatative capability

Systemic equities manager Realindex Investments has appointed Joanna Nash to the role of senior quantitative portfolio manager, a new one for the organisation.

Nash comes from Acadian Asset Management where she spent several years as a portfolio manager. She was previously a vice president of Australian equities at BlackRock and held roles at Commonwealth Bank.

In addition to her executive roles, Nash - who holds a PhD in economics from Yale, has lectured in economics at the University of Technology Sydney and New York University.

"Joanna is an impressive investment professional and I am pleased to welcome her to our team," said Realindex CEO Andrew Francis. "She brings significant experience in quantitative investment management and product development.

"Moreover, Joanna's experience in sustainable investment will be valuable, as clients increasingly look to us for systematic strategies that take into account environmental, social and governance considerations."
