QIC hires sustainability lead for global real estate

QIC has appointed Melissa Schulz as general manager of sustainability, a new role in the organisation. She'll report to the director for Australian Investment Management, Daryl Stubbings, and will be part of the global real estate executive committee.

Schulz comes to QIC from real real estate management company Vicinity Centres where she was the GM of sustainability. She was previously the manager of ANZ's corporate sustainability strategy and did hands-on work in environmental management and remediation for Transurban and ExxonMobil.

"Melissa brings with her a broadskillset which she will be able to apply to this new role," said a spokesperson for QIC.

In her new role, Schulz will, "provide leadership across all Global Real Estate functions on ESG strategy and execution at both a Fund and asset level. She will also report to the QICGRE Sustainability Committee, chaired by Managing Director of Global Real Estate, Michael O'Brien."
