QIC appoints for LA-based role
Australia-based asset manager, QIC, has announced the expansion of its global clients and marketing team including the appointment of Reza Basharzad as director, investment specialist, based in Los Angeles.
In this role, effective July 2017, Basharzad is responsible for leading product development and fund-raising initiatives for QIC's US real estate platform. He reports to Vittorio Lacagnina, head of global, clients & marketing for North America & Europe.
Basharzad has 18 years' experience in senior real asset-focused roles - with particular experience in fundraising and investor relations - at US asset management, investment banking and private equity firms. Most recently, he served as senior vice president at Paladin Realty Partners for seven years. Earlier in his career, he held positions at Triton Pacific Capital, Countrywide Securities and SunAmerica AIG.
QIC has also announced the appointment of Leonie Wilkinson to the same role as Basharzad, based in Sydney.
Commenting on their appointments, managing director, global business development, David Asplin, said: "Leonie and Reza's extensive experience in real estate funds management and investor relations will be of significant value to our clients as we continue to build our US real estate platform."
