PRIME SUPER
Date: January 2020
Position: Chair

Industry fund Prime Super has named Nigel Alexander as their new chair.

Alexander is also the chair of UnitingCare Queensland, and was the chair of RACQ for more than 18 years.

Prime Super traditionally represented people in the healthcare, aged care, and education industries, with a special focus on people in rural and under-represented areas. Rainmaker research shows they have more than $5 billion funds under management as at September 2019.

Alexander says that Prime Super's history of proven performance drew him to the role. "The Fund has great potential and is well positioned for the future. I am looking forward to collaborating with fellow Board Directors and the Executive team to continue its strong growth."

Alexander replaces Alan Bowman who has retired as a director after 19 years, the last nine as chair of the fund.

"I would like to thank Alan Bowman for his exemplary leadership of Prime Super. He has steered the Fund through two significant mergers over the past five years and ensured it is not only a financially sustainable organisation, but that it is on course for continued growth.

"It is also important to recognise the major contribution of David Cooper, who has retired from the board of the Fund after ten years as a Director and over two decades of involvement with the Fund in other capacities. And to acknowledge the contributions of Gary Bonello and Ray Russell, who assisted with the transition of Prime Super's merger with Combined Super last year.

"I am fortunate to be taking on the role of Chair in these exciting times," said Alexander.
