Parlevliet to step down as CIO at CBA Group Super

Commonwealth Bank Group Super has confirmed to industry Moves the upcoming departure of chief investment officer, Gerard Parlevliet, effective mid-March 2017.

After spending 38 years with the Commonwealth Bank, the last 20 of which with CBA Group Super, Parlevliet is stepping back from full-time work and will take some time off before officially retiring from the group in April or May 2017.

Prior to his current role, he was senior manager, superannuation policy from December 1996 to September 2002 and GM, trustee services from September 2002 to April 2010.

Commenting on his departure, CEO, Group Super, Doug Carmichael, said that Parlevliet "has made a tremendous contribution to the organisation and is highly respected throughout the industry."

Ruwanie Dias, current head of investment operations, will step in as acting chief investment officer until a permanent replacement is found.

Parlevliet will work with the group to ensure an effective transition.
