Vanguard has announced that Michael Roach, head of the firm's Australian Quantitative Equity Group (QEG), has been appointed to a new role as head of US equity operational risk at Vanguard's US headquarters in Malvern, Pennsylvania.
Roach, who is a 20-year Vanguard veteran, spent eight years as a portfolio manager for the QEG in the firm's US HQ before relocating to Australia in May 2017 to lead the Australian QEG.
Vanguard's head of investment management group, Asia Pacific, Daniel Reyes, thanked Roach for "his prominent role in bringing active management to Vanguard's Australian investors."
Roach is succeeded by fellow Vanguard veteran, Alla Kolganova, who most recently served as principal of the firm's investment strategy group.
