New Head of Investment Consulting at Mercer

Executive Move

Mercer has announced the appointment of Michael Armitage as the firm's head of investment consulting.

In this newly-created role, within Mercer’s institutional wealth team, Armitage will lead Mercer’s investment consulting activities in Australia.

Armitage has extensive experience in investment strategy research, portfolio management, institutional investment and asset management product development across the US, UK, Hong Kong and Australia. Most recently, he was director of investment services at Milliman, with responsibility for developing retirement risk-management solutions for retail and superannuation clients.

Commenting on his appointment, Mercer Institutional Wealth Leader, Pacific, Simon Eagleton, said: “As one of very few truly global investment consulting firms, we have the scale and subject matter specialisation to help drive investment success for our clients. With someone of Michael’s expertise leading the team, we can find more ways to bring these value-adding investment ideas to our clients”.

Following Armitage's departure from Milliman, the firm has appointed Amara Haqqani to the newly-created role of director of strategy and solutions in Australia.
