Position: Portfolio Manager

Nanuk Asset Management has appointed Peter Wilmshurst as a portfolio manager in the company's Nanuk New World Fund.

Wilmshurst left Franklin Templeton in late 2019 after more than 22 years with the organisation in a variety of research analyst and portfolio management roles in the Bahamas, Florida, and Melbourne. He looked after global portfolios for clients in Australia, Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. Wilmshurst started his career as a research analyst for Norwich Investment Management's Australian equity team.

"Peter's joining the firm is a real vote of confidence in the quality of what we are building at Nanuk and we are delighted that someone of his calibre and talent has decided to join us," said Nanuk managing director Paul Chadwick.

Nanuk was established in 2009 to explore investment opportunities associated with environmental sustainability and resource use efficiency. "Nanuke's mission is to deeply understand the many investment implications of a more sustainable and resource efficient world," said chief investment officer Tom King. "Peter is joining us at the beginning of a decade in which we will see sustainability dramatically impact most of the global economy and his wealth of global equity management experience will enhance our capacity to take advantage of the increasingly broad range of related opportunities."

Wilmshurst is set to join Nanuk in early January.
