NAB appoints Group Executive People

National Australia Bank has appointed Lorraine Murphy as group executive people.

Since 2013 Murphy has been the chief people officer of Air New Zealand and before that held senior HR roles at Campbells for 10 years.

Commenting on the appointment, National Australia Bank CEO Andrew Thorburn said: "I am pleased to be appointing an executive of Lorraine's calibre. This is a very important appointment to our Executive Leadership team. Our vision is to be Australia and New Zealand's most respected bank, and to achieve this goal we need to drive continuous change throughout our organisation."

He added: "Lorraine is a HR Executive with more than 20 years' experience, who has worked across multiple markets and organisations. During the course of her career, Lorraine has had extensive experience in delivering cultural change that underpins business strategy."

Commenting on her new role, Lorraine Murphy said: "I am excited about this HR role and the opportunity to continue to help people realise their potential and be the best they can be. To work alongside NAB CEO Andrew Thorburn and the Executive Leadership team, will be a rewarding experience. I am also really looking forward to returning to my home town of Melbourne, to take up this fantastic and important role."
