National Australia Bank has announced that Julie Rynski, currently customer executive regional and agribusiness, will act in the role of chief people officer following the departure of Lorraine Murphy.

Rynski, who has 30 years' banking experience, joined NAB in October 2017 as executive general manager, specialised banking. Before this, she spent seven years at Westpac as general manager SME banking, general manager commercial banking and state general manager (VIC) for retail and SME banking.

She will act in the role of chief people officer at NAB while the "global search" for a permanent successor is underway, the bank said.
