MLC GM of advice partnerships departs

MLC's general manager for advice partnerships, Michael Downey, has left the organisation.

Downey spent nearly 14 years with MLC, joining from TAL where he was head of insurance products and strategic marketing.

His move was related to the consolidation of MLC's advice business under the TenFifty Financial Group banner.

In sharing news of his move on LinkedIn, Downey said, "It's been a fantastic journey working across both the Wealth Distribution and Advice business units during a period of significant change for our industry and for MLC.

"I'm confident we have set the Advice business up for success in the years ahead lining up behind the GPL, TenFifty and MLC Connect brands, supported by a new strategy and structure which I have worked on over the past 12 months."

He says he plans to spend some time with friends and family before returning to the wealth industry.
