Mine Super has announced the appointment of Seamus Collins as its new chief investment officer. He has been acting in the role since the departure of David Bell in December 2018.

Collins joined the $11 billion industry fund in November 2017 as executive manager, portfolio implementation following over a decade within the superannuation segments of JP Morgan Chase Bank N.A. Previously, he held various senior management roles with the Australian Securities Exchange and Australian Stock Exchange.

Commenting on his appointment, Collins said: "I am extremely honoured to be given this opportunity to oversee the investment outcomes for the members of Mine Super. Joining the leadership team of a fund with such a deep connection to its members is a great responsibility and I look forward to building upon these strong foundations."

He will officially commence in the role on 1 April 2019.
