MFS Investment Management has announced the appointment of Daniel Bristow as director of consultant relations in Australia.

Based in Sydney, Bristow will be responsible for identifying, establishing and maintaining relationships within the consultant and research communities, the firm said.

Before joining MFS, Bristow spent 19 years at Colonial First State Global Asset Management, most recently as head of client relationships and service, and previously as a senior institutional relationship manager.

Commenting on his appointment, MFS senior managing director, Australia, Marian Poirier, said: "This is an important hire for our business in Australia. Having a dedicated consultant relations professional, especially one with Daniel's depth of experience and wealth of knowledge, will help build our momentum and further develop our footprint across the market."

She added: "We are delighted to welcome Dan to the team, and we are confident that his long track record of building relationships and providing excellent service to consultants will be invaluable in servicing our investors and their advisors."

Following Bristow's departure, the head of client relationships and services role at CFSGAM has been split into two, with Helen Squadrito and Rose Beedles each promoted to the newly-created roles of client services director.
