Mercer has announced the appointment of Gaye Morris as the firm's new people and culture leader.

In this role, Morris will lead Mercer's people and culture function for Mercer Pacific's Australia and New Zealand workforce, the firm said.

Morris has more than 20 years' experience as a senior human resources executive in the financial services sector, most recently as the head of people experience and reward at KPMG, and previously in a range of roles at ANZ.

Commenting on her appointment, Mercer CEO, Ben Walsh, said: "People and Culture is a priority for Mercer and for me as CEO. Gaye's broad experience in HR in both advisory firm and financial services organisations will help strengthen the capabilities of our workforce at a time of major change and transformation for the clients we serve."

Morris added: "We're in a transformative time with the emergence of a next generation workforce. I look forward to shaping and equipping Mercer's workforce with the skills and learning opportunities that help drive positive outcomes for our clients and for our people, now and into the future."

Morris replaces Michele Glover, who departed Mercer in July 2018 to take up the role of group executive, people and culture at AustralianSuper.
