APPOINTMENT
MASON STEVENS LIMITED
Date: January 2020
Position: Managing Director, Head of Fixed Income

Mason Stevens has added Patrick Eng to their executive team in the newly-created position of managing director, head of fixed income. The role will look after the fixed income strategy for advisers and institutional investors.

Eng has significant experience with Mason Stevens, having been an independent member of the business' fixed income investment committee for the last seven years, consulting on investments including asset-backed securities and portfolio construction. Vicent Hua, co-CIO, said that the fixed income capacity is something that sets Mason Stevens apart from competitors. "As a pioneer of managing fixed income in individual accounts, we have experienced very rapid growth over the past eight years.

Before consulting for Mason Stevens, Eng was the head of Credit Suisse Asset Finance Capital Markets in Australia and head of Moody's Investors Service structured finance rating group. He established some of the initial structured finance debt rating approaches in Australia.

Eng will work alongside co-CIO Thomas Bignill. "It's fair to say that fixed income is becoming a more critical part of asset allocation and featuring more broadly in client portfolios so, with this expanded capability, we will be working with our existing and current networks to expand our footprint," said Bignill.

Mason Stevens is a Sydney-based financial services firm that provides retail and wholesale investors with a multi-asset, multi-currency investment and managed account solution.
