Margie Seale joins the board of Westpac

Westpac has announced the appointment of Margie Seale to its board as an independent non-executive director, effective 1 March 2019.

Seale has previously served on a number of boards including Ramsay Health Care, Bank of Queensland, Penguin Randon House, the Australian Publishers' Association and Chief Executive Women.

Currently, she serves on the boards of Scentre Group, Telstra Corp and Australian Pacific Holdings.

Seale will be joined on the Westpac board by fellow new independent director, Steven Harker.

Commenting on both appointees, Westpac chair, Lindsay Maxsted, said: "We are delighted to welcome such high quality directors in Margie and Steve, who will add significant skills and experience to the board."

Harker and Seale will also sit on the board's risk and compliance committee.
