Louise Walsh, formerly the CEO of Future Generation, has launched a new capital raising organisation targeting boutique investment managers.

Walsh Capital will start with a handful of clients, including a new private equity firm, and will then move into dealing more directly with sophisticated investors like family offices and high-net worth individuals.

"I'm trying to design a portfolio of clients that appeals to a multi-generational family office," Walsh told Financial Standard.

Walsh will serve as chief executive for the new firm, which she calls, "An exciting opportunity to combine two of the things I love doing - raising capital (got that gene from my father) and engaging with investors.

"I'm here because of a lot of wonderful support, particularly from my Advisory Group of David Paradice and Tom Murphy, as well as Michael Walsh (no relation!)."

Walsh spent six years as CEO of Future Generation and has held a diverse set of board appointments including with the City Recital Hall and with St Vincent's Curran Foundation. She was previously the head of development for the Sydney Symphony Australia and head of sponsorships for the Sydney Olympics organising committee.
