Lonsec has confirmed the appointment of Hong Hon as a senior investment analyst within the managed funds research team, effective April 2019.

In his role, Hon is involved in the review of financial products across a range of different sectors.

Before joining Lonsec, Hon was a paraplanning team leader at ANZ Financial Planning, a senior paraplanner at Macquarie Private Wealth, a research manager at Bendigo Financial Planning and a senior investment analyst at Sandhurst Trustees. More recently, he worked for Fintech firm Shroogal where he was responsible for the business' portfolio construction and investment governance framework.

Joining Hon at Lonsec are several new-recruits including Robbie Lew, as a senior investment analyst; Tony Adams, as head of sustainable investment research; and Darrell Clark, as sector lead multi-asset, following the internal promotion of Deanne Baker to co-head of research.

They join earlier-recruits Robyn Bayliss, as head of operations, and Nathan Umapathy, as a specialist analyst for the ETF and LIC/LIT sector.

Leaving the team is sector lead for alternatives Sam Morris, who has been replaced internally by James Kirk, and sector lead for global equities Adrian Hoe, who will shortly commence his new role with Frontier.
