LGIAsuper has announced that chief investment officer (CIO) David Todd is retiring after nearly 15 years' service to the $13 billion, Brisbane-based fund.

Todd joined LGIAsuper as chief manager investments in 2005 and served in the additional role of CEO from July 2006 until April 2018. He was succeeded as CEO by Kate Farrar.

Prior to joining LGIsuper, Todd was the general manager investments for Reinsurance Australia/Calliden (1994 to 2004), general manager treasury for TNT (1983 to 1994) and held various accounting positions for Total, DuPont and ADC.

At the time of her appointment as CEO, Farrar said that Todd "steered the fund through the GFC, oversaw the successful merger with City Super and was instrumental [in the] transition to a public offer fund in 2017."

Todd, whose successor is former Equip executive officer, investments Troy Rieck, will retire from LGIAsuper in late 2019, the fund said.
