Lazard COO moves to Maple-Brown Abbott

Boutique investment manager Maple-Brown Abbott (MBA) has appointed a chief operating officer.

Melanie McQuire held a similar role with Lazard Asset Management, where she has been since 2012. She previously held product management and relationship roles with Macquarie Bank and ING Australia.

"Melanie has outstanding experience in the financial services industry, as a chief operating officer for a global investment firm and equities product manager, as well as her work with separately managed accounts," said MBA CEO and managing director Sophia Rahmani.

"She brings wide range of expertise and knowledge to the role, which will be a good fit with the broader Maple-Brown Abbott team as we continue our growth plans both domestically and offshore," Ms Rahmani said.

In her new role, McQuire will look after the business' operating and technology strategy as well as product and platform management.
