La Trobe adds to executive team
La Trobe Financial has announced the promotion of Michelle Bannister to the role of executive general manager - head of distribution, effective immediately.
Bannister, who joined La Trobe in 1996 and most recently served as the firm's senior manager of client partnerships, will lead La Trobe's 30-strong national BDM team.
Commenting on her appointment, La Trobe Financial's vice president and head of major clients, Steve Lawrence, said that Bannister's "performance and track record of delivering for her clients and her colleagues is outstanding" and that her appointment demonstrates the firm's "ongoing commitment to the third-party channel notwithstanding the potential impact of recommendations of the Hayne Royal Commission on broker remuneration."
La Trobe has also announced two further additions to its executive team, with Ron Dunbar promoted to executive general manager - head of commercial, and Luke Jones promoted to executive general manager - head of residential operations.
La Trobe's decision to strengthen the executive team is due to its current focus on "market opportunities following the retreat by the major banks from several lending segments," the firm said.
