La Trobe adds former ANZ exec to board

Former ANZ deputy CEO, Bob Edgar, has been appointed to the board of Australian wealth manager La Trobe Financial.

Edgar held several roles at ANZ during his time there, including chief economist, managing director of strategic planning, and chief executive of Grindlays for South Asia.

La Trobe Financial president and CEO, Greg O'Neill, congratulated Edgar on his appointment. "His extensive experience will prove invaluable as the company seeks to capture the growth opportunities that will be presented to us over the coming years.

"Our management team, business partners, staff, and customers will benefit greatly from the skills and experience Dr Edgar brings to the board," said O'Neill.

Said Edgar, "La Trobe Financial is a great Australian success story. I am delighted to join the company's board of directors and look forward to playing a part in its future success."

Edgar holds a PhD in economics from Ohio State University.
