PHILIP KEWIN
National Insurance Brokers Association - Chief Executive Officer
APPOINTMENT
NATIONAL INSURANCE BROKERS ASSOCIATION
Date: July 2021
Position: Chief Executive Officer

Former Association of Financial Advisers (AFA) chief executive Philip Kewin has landed with another industry association. He will become the chief executive of the National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA) in mid-August.

Kewin is replacing Dallas Booth, who will retire from the organisation at the end of October.

NIBA president Di Phelan said that Kewin's extensive involvement in representing the financial advice industry with the Federal Government and regulators, as well as other key industry bodies and stakeholders, made him a stand-out candidate. "Philip has a long track record of successful leadership in a number of key positions in financial services," she said." His extensive experience, high levels of integrity and authenticity are what we believe make him very well-qualified for the role at NIBA.

"We look forward to Philip joining the organisation and to working closely with him to deliver on our key strategic objectives."

Kewin left the ABA earlier this year after more than four years with the group. He previously worked in industry as the general manager of life and investments with Zurich Financial services Australia and was the head of aligned distribution with ING Australia. Kewin said it was an honour to take on his new role with the NIBA. "This is such an important organisation for the insurance broking sector in Australia. I look forward to working with the NIBA Board, the Members, and team at NIBA to continue the organisation's goals and objectives and build on the solid platform set by Dallas Booth. They certainly are big shoes to fill.

"There will be much work to be done leading into 2022 and beyond, and I look forward to meeting the challenges."
