JANA appoints co-head of not-for-profit clients

Investment consultancy JANA has appointed Michael Maher as co-head of clients in the not-for-profit sector.

Maher joins JANA from Mercer where he spent more than two decades covering endowments and foundations. He has also worked with ClearView Wealth and CBA.

Maher's appointment comes on the back of increasing demand from non-super clients, including not-for-profits, for access to investment advisory expertise, said JANA principal consultant Duncan Smith. "This has been driven, in part, by the need to maintain returns and distributions in a low interest rate environment.

"In Michael Maher, we saw an opportunity to address this heightened demand with an outstanding individual that brings the right experience, capability, and culture to our fast-growing not-for-profit team."

Maher said that the unique characteristics of the not-for-profit sector make it an exciting space to work in. Maher's first day with JANA is 15 June.
