The Future Fund, Australia's sovereign wealth fund, has announced that Rob Priestley has joined its Board of Guardians for a period of five years, effective 7 November 2017.

Priestley has over 30 years' experience in the financial services industry, across a range of financial services businesses, including: investment banking, financial markets, commercial banking, investor services, treasury services and asset management.

Currently, he is the chair of J.P. Morgan Australia and New Zealand and is a non-executive director of ASX Limited. Previously, he served as the CEO of J.P. Morgan Australia and New Zealand for 15 years before stepping down from his executive responsibilities in May 2017.

In a statement, the Future Fund said: "Mr Priestley brings considerable financial acumen and business expertise to complement the board's existing skills and fills the vacancy left by Mr Steven Harker."

Harker's term concluded in April 2017.
