IOOF has announced that Dan Farmer will be stepping into the role of chief investment officer, effective 1 July 2017, following news that long-standing CIO, Stephen Merlicek will be stepping down.
Farmer is currently portfolio manager - Australian equities with IOOF, a role he has held since February 2010. In this role, he is responsible for the overall management and performance of IOOF's multi-manager Australian equities portfolios.
Commenting on his appointment, IOOF managing director, Christopher Kelaher, said: "I am very pleased that we have the talent and bench-strength to appoint an internal successor. The company has supported Steve in building a high calibre investment management team. I am confident that Dan and the investment team will continue the strong track record of investment outperformance following the planned transition."
