Insync and Katana appoint distribution head

Insync Funds Management and Katana Asset Management have jointly announced the appointment of Damen Purcell to lead the distribution of their funds - the Insync Global Titans Fund and the Katana Australian Equity Fund - in the Australian market.

Purcell has over 20 years' experience, having previously held distribution roles with Colonial First State, JANA Investment Advisers and Ausbil Dexia, as well as a ten-year stint as head of distribution for Australian Unity Investments. Since January 2017 he has led the retail distribution efforts at RF Capital.

In welcoming Purcell, Insync Funds Management CEO, Garry Wyatt, said: "We are delighted to appoint someone of Damen's calibre [with a] demonstrable track record in raising capital for the major asset classes. This is a key addition for both firms in bolstering our growth aspirations".

Katana Asset Management portfolio manager, Romano Sala Tenna, added: "Damen has some very strong relationships and abilities in building flows for boutique managers combined with great depth of experience across Australian and Global Equities."
