Industry veteran joins State Super board

State Super has announced the appointment of Carol Austin to the board of SAS Trustee Corporation.

Austin, who has over thirty years' experience in the financial services industry, currently serves as a director on the boards of HSBC Bank Australia and the Grattan Institute, and is chair of the ACT Investment Advisory Board. She is also a commissioner with the NSW Independent Planning Commission.

Previously, Austin served as a director on the boards of the Future Fund and the Tasmanian Public Finance Corporation, and was the investment services director of Contango Asset Management.

Commenting on her appointment, State Super chair, Nicholas Johnson, said: "I have no doubt that Ms Austin will provide valuable insight from her vast experience within the industry, especially her current and past directorships, and has a very strong cultural alignment with what State Super is trying to achieve for our members. Most importantly, her skills complement the extensive range of skills we already have on our board."
