Industry veteran joins Lonsec board

Lonsec Holdings has announced the appointment of Ian Knox to its board, effective 30 June 2018.

Knox has over 40 years' industry experience, including roles as CEO of Sealcorp, deputy managing director of Westpac Investment Management and CEO of Lend Lease Investment Services. He is also the co-founder of non-aligned dealer group Paragem.

Lonsec has also announced that Charlie Haynes, who co-founded Paragem alongside Knox, has been appointed as Lonsec's new group CEO.

Commenting on the appointments, Lonsec chair, Jeff Bresnahan, said: "Both Charlie and Ian have successful track records in growing businesses...Ian's experience in working with major fund managers and financial planning practices will be invaluable to Lonsec and its growth strategy."

He added: "Their understanding of the markets Lonsec operates in will allow for the momentum of each of our existing businesses to be continued. Further, it will also allow us to better target potential acquisitions within the industry. We are, as a group, always on the lookout for acquisitions that are compatible with our long-term strategy."
