Impact Investment Group (IIG) co-founder Danny Almagor has taken on the role of executive chair following the departure of chief executive officer Daniel Madhavan.

Almagor has most recently served in an executive director role for the organisation, allowing him to continue involvement in a variety of companies including as managing director of Australia's first B Corporation, Small Giants. He's previously been the social entrepreneur in residence at RMIT and founded Engineers Without Borders Australia.

Former NAB group CEO Andrew Thorburn will also join IIG in a part-time capacity to assist in what Almagor has termed a "transition period" for the organisation's leadership. They have also engaged Sayers Group to provide strategic advice for the changeover. "Andrew and Sayers will work with me, the Board, and executive team to work through our emerging opportunities and define IIG's exciting next steps," said Almagor.

Madhavan signalled his intention to leave the business late last year and the change was announced in early April.
