Date: January 2019
Position: Chief Operating Officer

Impact Investment Group has announced the appointment of Paul Shanley as the firm's new chief operating officer, effective 14 January 2019.

Shanley, who has 15 years' senior executive experience across financial services and superannuation, is currently the general manager for performance and reporting at Australian Unity. Before this, he was chief operating officer at JB Were and has also served as JB Were's chief financial officer and as general manager of finance for Aviva Australia.

Shanley offered three reasons for accepting the role with Impact Investment Group:

"Firstly there is the opportunity to be part of a sector that is making a meaningful difference.
Secondly, to do this within an organisation that is clearly at the absolute forefront of this positive change in Australia.
Thirdly, is the opportunity to work with such a passionate and talented group of people at IIG and to be an important part of a team that I am sure will look back in a few years time and say: "Wow..we really did make a massive difference". I feel privileged to have this opportunity."

Shanley succeeds Ingrid van Dijken, who departed the firm, and the role of chief operations officer & head of investor services, in September 2018.
