IFS executive manager moves to HESTA

The new GM of financial planning at HESTA comes from an industry background - and already has significant experience with the fund.

Chris Joiner joins the industry super fund from Industry Fund Services where he was the executive manager of advice solutions. He has also worked across independent financial planning firms and with a number of banks.

HESTA Chief Advice Officer Matthew Halpin said the diversity of Joiner's experience is exciting. "We look forward to Chris driving the delivery of our strategy to increase the number of members accessing financial planning, assisting them to achieve a better financial future. We will also draw on Chris's knowledge and networks within the financial planning industry to establish and grow our product distribution footprint through the external financial adviser channel."

HESTA isn't a new organisation for Joiner; he worked closely with the fund during his time with IFS. "I came to know HESTA as a fund, focused on living a strong organisational culture, that really 'walk the walk' in terms of helping their members, who work in health and community services. I'm passionate about the value of advice, so this is an exciting opportunity to grow HESTA's advice offering to members, both with employed and external Financial Advisers."
