IAG Australian CEO Mark Milliner will leave the company at the end of the month following a restructure of the organisation's operations.

The Australian division has been split into Direct Insurance Australia and Intermediated Insurance Australia, IAG managing director Nick Hawkins announced.

"Mark has enjoyed a long career and is highly respected in our industry," said Hawkins. "We have been peers on the executive team for the past four years and I've seen first-hand the significant contribution he's made to our company. I want to personally thank Mark for his help and support and wish him every success in the future."

Milliner has been chief executive officer since mid-2017. He spent just over a year as COO when he joined the organisation in 2016. Before that, he held senior leadership roles at Suncorp, including CEO of personal and commercial insurance.

The group has commenced a search for group executive for Direct Insurance Australia. Amanda Whiting, currently IAG's executive GM for consumer distribution will step into the group executive role. Julie Batch, currently IAG's strategy and innovation division lead, will act as group executive for Intermediated Insurance Australia.

Additionally, IAG announced that Michelle McPherson has been confirmed as group CFO after holding the role in an acting capacity since April.

"The changes announced today will set us up well for success as we continue to focus on delivering a simpler, stronger and more resilient IAG that meets the evolving needs of our customers and communities we serve," said Hawkins.
