HSBC Australia on the hunt for new chief

HSBC has commenced recruitment for a new chief executive officer for HSBC Australia following the promotion of Martin Tricaud to CEO of the MENAT region.

Peter Wong, deputy chair and chief executive of the Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited, said that Australia is a priority international market for HSBC and the focus now will be to "swiftly appoint [Tricaud's] successor who will have responsibility for leading the next stage of growth in this important market."

Stepping in as acting CEO during the recruitment process is Noel McNamara, current chief risk officer for HSBC Australia.
