HESTA's general manager of brand and acquisitions is stepping away from the business for family reasons.

In a post on her LinkedIn, Anita Fox says that balancing increasing pressures as a solo parent and work has taken its toll, so she is taking a break to "be more available and flexible with my working hours so I can be the parent I need and want to be.

"As an employer, HESTA has been and continues to be incredibly supportive and I am delighted to say I will be staying there, working part-time in a Marketing Strategist role from January."

Fox has been in the GM role for more than 4 years. She previously was GM of consumer business for Essendon Football Club and in business services at American Express.

In a statement to Financial Standard, HESTA says the GM role will remain vacant for now.

"HESTA strongly supports our people to have a positive work/life balance. After making a wonderful contribution helping build our very strong brand over many years, Anita has now decided she wants to work in a part-time role," HESTA chief experience officer Lisa Samuels said.

"We have supported Anita in this and are excited about the ongoing contribution she will continue to make to our brand strategy."
