Ernst & Young - Partner, Climate Change and Sustainability Services (CCaSS)
APPOINTMENT
ERNST & YOUNG
Date: April 2021
Position: Partner, Climate Change and Sustainability Services (CCaSS)

Emma Herd, who has been the CEO of the Investor Group on Climate Change (IGCC) for the last six years, is joining EY as a partner in the group's climate change and sustainability services (CCaSS) practice.

CCaSS leader Rebecca Dabbs said that Herd would be a fantastic addition to the team. "Emma has a global reputation for excellence in the field of climate change and finance and her appointment will help us continue to build our team and expertise in the financial services segment."

Before taking the chief executive role at the IGCC, Herd held corporate responsibility, sustainability, and environment-focused roles at Westpac.

IGCC chair Stephen Dunne said that Herd's leadership would be missed. "Under Emma's leadership, the investor voice has become clear and impactful in the Australian and New Zealand climate change discussion.

"Emma has overseen a massive growth in the size and activities of IGCC, while also supporting the establishment of the Asia Investor Group on Climate Change, which now represents investors with over $15 trillion USD in combined assets under management."

IGCC has begun the process of finding Herd's replacement.

Herd said that she loved her time with IGCC, "and am thrilled I can leave the organisation with such a strong team in place to continue supporting Australian and New Zealand investors on climate change." That mission will continue, said Herd, with EY. ""Climate change and sustainability considerations are at the forefront of industry and government approaches to risk management and strategy. I look forward to joining the EY team to add my experience and expertise to the great work that EY has underway in this incredibly important area of transformation".
