Former BT advice head to lead Xplore Wealth

Xplore Wealth has announced the appointment of Michael Wright as chief executive officer, effective 9 September 2019.

Wright has 25 years' financial services experience, leading large distribution businesses and teams across the areas of advice, private banking, premium banking, wealth management, retail and business banking.

He joins Xplore Wealth from BT where he spent almost four years as general manager for BT Financial Advice.

Of his new role, Wright said: "The opportunity to lead Xplore Wealth Limited during this formative time for the Company is genuinely exciting as the wealth management and financial services sector is transforming, creating growth opportunities".

He added: "I feel my experience and knowledge is well aligned with the qualities that Xplore Wealth requires to lead this expansion."

Wright succeeds David Heather, who departed the firm on 9 May 2019.

Xplore Wealth said that it will shortly also be announcing the appointment of its new head of distribution and marketing.
