Longtime Goldman Sachs investment banking exec Nell Hutton has joined Westpac's institutional bank as general manager of financial markets.

Hutton comes off more than 21 years with Goldman Sachs, the last two as head of global markets for Australia and New Zealand. She previously held positions including the head of corporate advisory solutions and head of fixed income. She started as an executive director for derivatives and debt capital markets in London. In 1998 Hutton became the first female partner for Goldman Sachs in Australia.

She previously was a director for Goldman Sachs Financial Markets Pty Ltd and was a trustee for the Goldman Sachs and JBWere Superannuation Fund.
