Cbus has confirmed to Industry Moves the departure of Chris Lockwood, general manager, industry partnerships, effective September 2017.

Lockwood joined the $41 billion fund in 2008 as a business development manager. Since then, he has held various roles with the fund, including as manager for workplace distribution projects and manager for growth strategy. He was appointed to his most recent role in 2015.

Lockwood leaves Cbus to take on the role of CEO with MATES in Construction (MIC), an organisation that supports suicide prevention in the construction industry.

In an announcement to LinkedIn, Cbus congratulated Lockwood on his new role, saying that it's "a cause that's very close to our hearts. As Australia's largest super fund for building and construction, the work MIC does has a huge impact on our members."

"Chris has been working with us for almost ten years, and we're so delighted to see him follow his passion for making a difference. We couldn't be more excited for [him]!"

Cbus is currently recruiting to replace Lockwood.
