FUTURE FUND MANAGEMENT AGENCY
Date: June 2018
Position: Head of Alternatives

The Future Fund has announced the appointment of Ben Samild, former director of debt and alternatives, to the new role of head of alternatives.

The appointment is one of five new roles created for existing senior investment team members, as part of a restructure following the recent departure of head of property, Barry Brakey, and the appointment of two deputy chief investment officers, David George and Wendy Norris, in March 2018.

According to the Fund, the new structure is designed to "maintain the organisation's significant asset class expertise while providing additional scope for collaboration across teams and sectors."

Samild, who first joined the Fund as director of debt and alternatives in October 2013, previously spent over four years with industry fund LUCRF as head of investment strategy.

The other investment team changes include Craig Dandurand moving director of debt and alternatives to head of debt, Stewart Tillyard moving from director of property to head of unlisted property, James Fraser-Smith moving from director of infrastructure and timberland to head of unlisted infrastructure and timberlands, and Sarah Carne moving from director of equities to head of listed tangible assets.
