Funds SA appoints new board Director

Funds SA has announced the appointment of Judith Smith as a director on the board of the $30 billion fund, effective mid-July 2018.

According to the fund, "Smith brings extensive knowledge and experience in investment and funds management, with a strong governance and risk focus."

During her career, Smith has worked in roles responsible for "evaluating and investing in listed and unlisted companies", and is currently the member of a number of boards and investment committees.

Commenting on her appointment, Smith said: "I am very much looking forward to joining the Board of Funds SA, and being able to make a contribution to the future growth and development of the organisation."

Funds SA has also announced the appointment of Paul Laband as the fund's new chair.

Smith fills the vacancy left by former chair, Kevin Foley.
