Franklin Templeton appoints Australian Head of Retail

Franklin Templeton Australia has announced the appointment of Manny Damianakis as head of retail for the Australian market.

In this newly-created role, Damianakis will be responsible for driving the firm's retail strategy, focusing on the delivery of Franklin Templeton's investment capabilities to financial advisers in Australia and New Zealand, the firm said. He will also join the Australian executive team.

Damianakis, who has 20 years' experience in financial services, was most recently head of retail business at AMP Capital. Prior to that, he was the northern regional sales manager at Vanguard Investments Australia.

Commenting on his appointment, Matthew Harrison, managing director of Franklin Templeton Australia, said: "We are very pleased to welcome a leader of Manny's calibre. His broad industry experience will be invaluable as we continue to grow the business. As the financial advice landscape evolves, Manny will play a crucial role in leading our retail business to ensure we continue to meet and exceed our clients' expectations."

Damianakis will be based in Sydney and report directly to Harrison.
