GESB, the $27 billion super fund for government employees in Western Australia, has appointed Paul Taylor as general manager, investments, effective January 2019.
In this role, Taylor has overall responsibility for investment governance, investment strategy, asset allocation, portfolio construction and investment monitoring.
Taylor has more than 20 years' investment experience with superannuation funds and other institutional investors. Before joining GESB, he spent four years with Willis Towers Watson, most recently as the firm's head of asset consulting in Australia. Previously, he led the institutional investment advisory practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Taylor replaces Ben Palmer, who served as GESB's general manager, investments and acting CEO before being appointed as the fund's permanent CEO in July 2018.
A spokesperson for Willis Towers Watson confirmed that recruitment is underway for his successor.
