Rest has announced the appointment of Tyrone O'Neill as the $50 billion super fund's group executive, member engagement, effective April 2019.
O'Neill has nearly two decades' experience in strategic marketing and customer insights roles, including executive positions at Optus and Vodafone Hutchison Australia. Most recently, he was the head of personalised marketing at Westpac.
In his new role at Rest, O'Neill will be responsible for strategic brand and marketing management, segmentation, customer service channels, and data and analytics, the fund said.
He will joined by fellow new-recruit Brendan Daly, who has been appointed group executive, product and operations. Both appointments follow the restructure announced in late 2018 that saw the formation of six new internal groups and the appointments of Gemma Kyle as group executive, corporate services; Deborah Potts as group executive, employer, industry and engagement; and Trevor Evans as group executive, people and change. Recruitment is still underway for the remaining role of group executive, innovation and transformation.
Commenting on both O'Neill and Daly's appointments, Rest's chief executive officer Vicki Doyle said: "I'm delighted that Tyrone and Brendan will be bringing their significant expertise and leadership experience to Rest as we continue our drive to connect with working Australians in ways that matter."
