Former VFMC CIO joins AustralianSuper

AustralianSuper has confirmed to Industry Moves the appointment of Justin Pascoe as a senior portfolio manager, effective June 2019.

In this role, Pascoe is responsible for strategy research of equity markets, portfolio construction and working to build out the growing Quant capability for the $169 billion fund.

Pascoe previously served eight years as the chief investment officer of VFMC before stepping down from the role in December 2016. Before that, he was a managing director at Goldman Sachs, based in the firm's Hong Kong office, and served as chief investment officer, Asia ex Japan at State Street Global Advisors (Asia).

An AustralianSuper spokesperson said, "Justin brings great industry knowledge to the Fund and will be an important part of the team as AustralianSuper looks to build out its internal investment capabilities in a bid to deliver the best possible return to members."
